The Skateboarding Club at the University of South Florida was started in the Fall semester of 2010 by the current President, Chad Riese. The club is open strictly to USF students, of all ages and skill levels, with a common interest in skateboarding and long boarding. Not sure how to skate, but always have wanted to learn? Well, join the club and have our experienced members teach you how; these highly experienced riders act as coaches and offer support, as well as encouragement, to less experienced riders. A few lessons and you could be off skating around campus all on your own in very minimal time. Joining the skateboarding club will bring your college encounter to a new level that will exceed your expectations. The members of our organization participate in various activities which include: competing in skateboarding competitions and long boarding races, taking trips to skate parks, hills, and local parking garages, participating in community service projects, fundraisers, intramural sports (such as basketball, soccer, flag football, softball, and volleyball just to name a few), football tailgates, and much much more!

The purpose of the Skateboarding Club is to provide an environment for students to participate in recreational and competitive skateboarding and long boarding. The Skateboarding Club will promote the sport of skateboarding, encourage social interaction, and provide an alliance among students, of all ages and skill levels that have an interest in skateboarding. The Skateboarding Club is an affiliate of the USF Sport Clubs Council and also the N.C.S.A. (National Collegiate Skateboarding Association). This organization is not for profit, and also non-commercial.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Skateboarding Club, check out our contact page. Whether you seek to become a skateboarder or not, take a look at our events page to see when you could come and meet the group and get a feel for what this student organization is all about.

Recently, the Skate Club has joined the N.C.S.A., the National Collegiate Skateboarding Association (founded by the University of North Florida's skate club President Ross Wood), and starting Summer 2011 will be competing in collegiate skateboarding events against other schools across not only the state of Florida, but the entire nation. If you are a competitive skateboarder please contact the club and find out how you can represent the green and gold colors at these upcoming National events!

The Skate Club president, Chad Riese, is working tremendously hard trying to get a skate park built on campus to have facility to skateboard for ALL students to enjoy. If you would like to help in the completion of this project please contact him and find out how you can help. With the help all 60+ club members and Campus Recreation this goal can be fulfilled.
